As an example of a testimony, we will try to summarize in a few words what a brother from Ottawa said after attending a day of distribution of food, drink, shoes, clothing, school supplies, and Bible literature.
He said:
"I am truly grateful to have been able to participate in this distribution program. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to see the impact it had on people.
People walking on the sidewalks, motorists who stopped to taste the food, mechanics working nearby and even their customers, young girls living in the neighborhood, and also a family I met—all these children of God were very happy to taste the delicious Haitian dishes that the Bethesda community had prepared for them. And all they had to do was say yes, I want this or that. They could even try on shoes and clothes and leave without paying a penny. If they liked it, they could also take home some good songs about God.
Seeing people receive several essential items for free at once was a joy. The children were especially excited to receive snacks or ice cream. It was the end of June. It was very hot. Eating a delicious ice cream under such a suffocating sun was a delight. It was also beautiful to see the Explorers alongside the adults serving people. Everything was done with beautiful smiles, cheerfulness, and kindness.
But what touched me the most was how this program allowed us to share God's love with people. The free distribution of Bible literature opened doors to share God's Word and His love with those in need.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have this wonderful experience and to witness the difference a Christian community can make in its neighborhood. I am convinced that this program has made a real difference in the lives of these children of God, and I look forward to proposing this model to my community in Ottawa.
